Meet Dr. Keenan
Dr. Karen Keenan loves to see people smile, especially if they haven’t been able to smile with the pride and happiness they deserve. For the past 29 years, Dr. Keenan has given her patients the kind of dental care she would expect for her own family, care that is based on trust, education, and prevention.

Committed to continuing her education beyond her formal training, Dr. Keenan has studied TMJ and occlusion extensively through the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as aesthetics, TMJ, and neuromuscular reconstruction at the Las Vegas Institute. As a tribute to her ongoing endeavor toward excellence, Dr. Keenan has received awards of recognition from the Nashville and Tennessee Dental Associations for greatly exceeding the amount of continuing education required by the state.

Outside the Office
Dr. Keenan was born in El Reno, Oklahoma, and attended Del City High School in a suburb of Oklahoma City. She has been a proud resident of Nashville for more than 20 years. Dr. Keenan and her husband, Wayne Powell of Powell Creative, have a four-legged son named Bogey who was adopted from the Nashville Humane Association in 2003.
An avid gardener, Dr. Keenan belongs to a local garden club and is a member of Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art. She has also taken up Bridge and plays every Monday night at the Vanderbilt Bridge Club where she is a new member. Dr. Keenan is active with the Nashville Humane Association and served on their Board of Directors for three years. When she has quiet time, Dr. Keenan enjoys reading and is a member of a local book club.
